Introduction
PassMark is a mobile application operated by Primelab Greece. This privacy policy explains what data is collected when you use the PassMark app or this website, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it.
We are committed to handling your data responsibly and transparently. PassMark is designed to collect as little personal data as possible — most features work entirely offline, without any data leaving your device.
By using the PassMark app or this website, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you have any questions, please get in touch via our contact form.
Information We Collect
Analytics (via PostHog)
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics. This helps us understand how the app is being used and where improvements can be made. The data collected includes:
- Anonymous usage events (e.g. screens viewed, buttons tapped)
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
No names, email addresses, student data, or any personally identifiable information (PII) are collected through analytics. Events are transmitted anonymously — there is no way to trace analytics data back to an individual user.
Contact & Feedback Forms (via Web3Forms)
When you voluntarily submit a message through the in-app feedback form or the contact form on this website, we collect the information you provide:
- In-app feedback: your email address (optional) and message
- Website contact form: your name (optional), email address (required), and message
This data is processed by Web3Forms and forwarded to our team. Submissions are stored on AWS infrastructure managed by Web3Forms for up to 30 days (free plan) or 1 year (pro plan), after which they are automatically deleted.
We will only use the contact information you provide to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or share your details with third parties beyond the services described in this policy.
Information We Do Not Collect
When you use PassMark to grade an exam, the scores you enter exist only in your device's memory during the active session. They are:
- Never transmitted to any server
- Never stored to disk or in the cloud
- Never logged or included in analytics events
- Cleared when you leave the grading session
The exam configuration (scoring rules, grade boundaries, thresholds) is bundled with the app at build time. No user data is sent to any server during the grading process. The only network requests made by the app are:
- Anonymous analytics events sent to PostHog
- Contact form submissions, only when you explicitly tap "Submit"
Third-Party Services
PassMark uses the following third-party services. Each service operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or as required by the third-party services we use:
- Analytics data: retained in accordance with PostHog's data retention policy. See PostHog's documentation for current retention periods.
- Contact form submissions: retained by Web3Forms for up to 30 days (free plan) or 1 year (pro plan), then automatically deleted. Forwarded copies retained in our email inbox until manually deleted.
- Exam and student data: never stored. Not applicable.
We do not maintain any proprietary database of user records.
Children's Privacy
PassMark is a professional tool designed for language teachers and educators. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us via our contact form and we will take prompt steps to delete the information.
Your Rights
Under applicable data protection law, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Given the minimal data collection described in this policy, the main scenario in which personal data may be held is contact form submissions.
To exercise your rights or request deletion of any personal data submitted via the contact or feedback forms, please email:
Use our contact form to submit your request.
We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, our practices, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
Continued use of the PassMark app or this website after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
